Funny Story:

"Man drives car into restaurant then orders pizza!"

Hear about the man who drove his car through the front door of a pizza restaurant in Lincoln, Nebraska then decided to make the best of a bad situation.

It was reported that just before noon on Wednesday an elderly man got his foot stuck on the accelerator of his car and drove into a Valentino's pizza restaurant. While concerned citizens called 911, the man placed an order for a pizza.

Witnesses on the scene said that the man didn't appear to be hurt or in shock at what had happened.

"He seemed very calm and collected. I was amazed," a bystander told Nebraska Central. The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No one in the restaurant was injured.

Chief Leo Benes told the Lincoln Journal Star, the fact that the driver ordered a pizza was a good thing, because it showed that he was "alert" after the accident. The real tragedy here seems to be that he didn't receive his pizza before being sent to the hospital.

Billie's Kia Carnival is great for a road trip, with plenty of space! A 2009 model that is reliable and safe. John’s Audi A6 4F is a spacious sedan with full features such as cruise control, central locking and Bluetooth. George’s Hyundai Getz is an economical car that’s perfect for a small family and is only 2 years old.

Top tips for car owners:

  • Lighten up your key chain Does your car key share a chain with a dozen or more other keys? That’s a pretty heavy load hanging off the car key when it’s in the ignition. The weight, combined with bouncing while you drive, can wear out the tumblers inside the ignition and eventually lead to ignition switch failure. Drive with only the ignition key in your ignition.
  • Wipe away that bird dropping ASAP Most birds eat berries and seeds, making what they dump out of their backsides acidic. Leaving it on your paintwork for too long will create permanent marks that even a professional detailer will not be able to get off.
  • Be Gentle with Cold Engine 90 per cent of engine wear happens in the first 10 minutes after a cold start, so take it slow and don’t rev your engine after a startup as it will lead to a catastrophic engine failure in the long-run.
  • Don't Smoke in your Car Smoking inside the car detracts its resale value. Cigarette, cigar and pipe tobacco smoke can embed itself in the fabric of the seats, the floorboards and the headliner, and can be impossible to remove.

Bear Locks Itself In A Vehicle, Destroys Car Interior

The family who owns the car says this isn't the first time they've had bear trouble

A Florida family who live across the street from Ocala National Forest are used to having wildlife wrecking its way through their property, but the latest attack is almost unbearable. Heather Bybee made the grisly discovery early Monday morning after her father told her a bear was inside her car, ripping the interior to shreds. Her father saw the bear's head sticking out, so he did the only thing he could do. Unlock and open the door, then run. By the time he'd gotten the bear out of her car the damage had already been done. "He a bully of cars," Donny, Bybee's 6-year-old son told WFTV. "I don't like bears, just tear up everything like a wild animal." The claw marks on the outside were minor, but the interior was completely destroyed, causing nearly $17,000 in damage. Click Here to view the News report and cute commentary from 6-year-old Donny.

Drivers - are you a Honk Aholic?

When self-expression has been reduced to 140 characters, the stray honk of a car horn can seem like just another form of reflex communication. And just like Twitter, honking can be annoying, mindless, a nuisance, and even illegal. An American company has launched a new ad campaign fashioned as a public service announcement against what they are calling "honkaholism". Stophonkaholism.com, describes honkaholism as "an epidemic that causes drivers to honk incessantly and often unnecessarily." Visitors to the site can take a test to see if they suffer from honkaholism, and stage a "honkervention" for those in denial. They can even order a Honk Suppressor which emits a dog-toy-like squeak to replace the blare of an overused horn. Though only available in America, the campaign has drawn over 60,000 requests for Honk Suppressors. Which begs the question, when is it appropriate to actually honk the horn? Should it be illegal to honk a horn to pick up a date or get the attention of a passing neighbour? What about to celebrate the win of your favourite football team?
